Our History
Las Palomas’ origins date back to the mid-1900s, with the construction of the original compound: “Pueblo.” This collection of family homes, or “casitas,” featured charming gardens, lovely walkways, and small farming tracks. As the family grew, more “casitas” were added, as well as a small general store lovingly called “La Tienda.” The area was so inviting, that friends and neighbors would often come to shop at “La Tienda” and then linger to gather around the area’s cozy fireplace. Even back then, Las Palomas served as the ideal gathering spot for warm company and artistic conversations. And this was just the beginning…

In 1994, visionary opera singer Neil Rosenshein saw the enduring legacy of this enchanting place as a unique lodging and gathering opportunity for creative minds to converge in Santa Fe, a city bustling with talent and artistic energy. The historic inn, Las Palomas Santa Fe was born.

Our History
Three years later, Las Palomas earned its place in the National Register of Historic Places as an authentic example of Santa Fe architecture. That same year, as the property grew into adjacent historic properties, the center house was completed, followed by the Duran House, named after one of Santa Fe’s most iconic families.

In addition to neighboring historic homes, Las Palomas also acquired a coveted section of land. Ownership has taken on the mission of replanting many lovely fruit trees and, by 2023, the ”Las Palomas Orchard” will be available for guests to enjoy.
